Acquire Fire Protection Fire Extinguisher Services

Fire ExtinguishersWe provide fire extinguisher services for all types of fire extinguishers including wheeled units. This is important since local fire departments, insurance companies and OSHA standards all require regular fire extinguisher inspections to ensure proper fire regulations are met. Services include the following:

  • Inspection
  • Recharge
  • Repair
  • Installation

We also provide training in the proper use of fire extinguishers to ensure prompt response in case of emergencies.

Step 1:

Assessing the type of potential fire in a given area – Identifying the types of materials in your building is vital in determining which extinguisher should be used to successfully extinguish a potential fire in a given area. See below for categorization of different fires:

  • Class A: paper, wood & textile fires
  • Class B: flammable liquid fires
  • Class C: energized electrical fires
  • Class D: burning metal fires
  • Class K: kitchen fires

Determining which extinguishing agent is best for the hazard:

  • ABC Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher: class A,B,C fires (multi-purpose)
  • Standard Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher: class B & C fires
  • Purple K Fire Extinguisher: class B & C fires
  • Class D Fire Extinguisher: class D fires only (fires with magnesium & titanium)
  • Class K Fire Extinguisher: class A & K fires (kitchen compliant)
  • Water Mist Fire Extinguisher: class A & C fires (non-metallic areas – designed for locations such as CAT scan rooms)

Step 3:

Determining Proper Locations for Extinguishers

  • Acquire Fire Protection will do a full hazard assessment of your facility and will determine exact locations for all needed extinguishers while ensuring the correct sizes and types are being used in each area.

Step 4:

Proper Recharging of Extinguishers

  • Use of only environmentally friendly closed recovery recharge systems with the highest rated agents
  • Why is this important? Every fire extinguisher comes with a pre-determined rating which directly relates to the amount of fire it is able to extinguish. If recharges are not completed in a proper closed environment, the rating will significantly fall, giving the customer no assurance of how much fire a single extinguisher can handle upon discharge. If a fire ignites, the customer may not be able to handle the fire and a dangerous situation could erupt.

Step 5:

Bar Code Tracking System

  • Acquire Fire Protection uses a unique bar-code tracking system. It gives companies the following benefits:
    • Keeps track of all your fire equipments locations, manufacture dates, serial numbers, size and type as well as a service record on every individual piece of equipment.
Provides a budget analysis for your next year’s service.
    • Upon request, receive printed reports and documentation for local fire departments, insurance companies and OSHA affiliates
